national small business conference (2025)
The National Small Business Conference is an annual gathering of entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and government representatives focused on empowering small businesses through networking, education, and strategic partnerships. The 2025 event in New Orleans brought together over 2,500 attendees for keynotes, workshops, and exhibitor showcases designed to inspire growth and innovation.
My role
Designed external collateral and helped shape the visual identity for a 2,500+ attendee event. From large-scale signage and printed agendas to media kits and a sponsorship prospectus, I crafted each design to reflect the energy of the city and deliver a cohesive, branded experience from start to finish.
Challenge
Creating a cohesive suite of branded collateral that captured the vibrant spirit of New Orleans, while still upholding the professionalism and brand integrity of a nationally recognized organization. The challenge was blending cultural flair with consistency and ensuring every element felt both place-inspired and on-brand.
Process
The brief for SBC was pretty simplified I was provided a logo and color palette as the foundation. After researching local culture to inform the visual tone, I began with the sponsorship prospectus, which set the direction for all materials including signage, print collateral, speaker templates, and social graphics. I collaborated with other designers to maintain brand consistency, manage timelines and tasks in Asana, and coordinated with print vendors to ensure accurate production and seamless onsite installation.
Results
The 2025 conference saw a notable increase in attendance from the previous year, with over 2,500 participants. Onsite, the branding received overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees, sponsors, and the client. Design suggestions from past events including clearer signage and refined agenda layouts were implemented, significantly improving the attendee experience. Speaker presentations maintained a consistent look and feel during sessions. Last-minute design updates and onsite changes were handled seamlessly, ensuring everything from signage to screen content remained cohesive and aligned with the brand.
